Telegram Mini App Turnkey: Cost, Timeline and Who Needs One

A turnkey Telegram Mini App means you come with a task and receive a finished application inside Telegram: with design, backend, payments and connected services. No separate contractors for frontend, design and integrations, no App Store and nothing for the customer to install. In this article we look at when a business really needs a Mini App rather than a bot, what makes up the price, how long development takes and what to clarify before the start.

Bot or Mini App: how to tell you need an app

A classic Telegram bot is a dialogue: buttons, messages, step-by-step scenarios. For simple tasks that is enough: booking one service, leaving a request, receiving a notification. Problems begin when the scenario branches. A catalogue of 200 products in «next page» format is convenient for nobody, and choosing a date, time and specialist through ten consecutive messages annoys the customer.

A Mini App removes that limit. It is a full web application that opens inside the Telegram window: with screens, filters, a cart, a calendar and a personal account. At the same time it knows who opened it and can message the customer in chat. A simple rule: if your scenario on a website would take more than two or three screens, build a Mini App. If it is one form or a few buttons, a bot is enough.

A combination often works best. The bot remains the entry point and the notification channel, while all complex interaction lives in the app. The customer taps a button in the chat, picks a product or a time slot in a convenient interface, and gets the confirmation and reminders back in the dialogue.

What a Mini App can be: shop, booking, account, game

The most common format is a shop in Telegram. A catalogue with categories, a product card with variants, a cart, payment by card or Apple Pay and order statuses in chat. Food delivery, event tickets and hotel booking work the same way: the selection and payment logic is identical, only the screens differ.

The second big class is booking. Beauty salons, clinics, car services, cleaning: the customer sees free slots, picks a specialist and a time, gets a reminder a day before. The administrator sees the schedule in their own panel rather than in chat threads. The third class is accounts and tools for a team or customers: balance, order history, bonuses, request status. Everything a separate website with a login used to be built for.

Games and loyalty mechanics stand apart: a fortune wheel, points, referral programmes, giveaways. Technically these are Mini Apps too, and this is where Telegram gives the most: the audience is already in the messenger, sharing a link is easy, and a game result can immediately turn into a discount in the same shop.

How much a Telegram Mini App costs and what drives the price

The price consists of three parts: the number of screens and the logic on them, integrations, and design. Screens are the frontend volume: catalogue, product card, cart, account, schedule. Integrations mean connecting payments, a CRM, delivery, a warehouse or accounting: each adds backend work and testing. Design can be built on ready-made components or be unique to the brand, and that is a difference of several days of work.

Market benchmarks look like this. An MVP with three to five screens and a single payment method starts from a few hundred dollars. A full shop or booking service with an account, notifications and two or three integrations runs from one to three thousand. Complex projects with games, multi-level loyalty or a custom admin panel are estimated separately. The exact figure always appears after the brief, once it is clear how many screens and systems are involved.

What «turnkey» includes matters. A proper offer covers design, frontend, backend, payment setup, deployment to a server and a period of free fixes after release. If the proposal lists these as separate lines with separate prices, it is not turnkey but a kit, and the final amount will be different.

Timeline and stages: what turnkey development looks like

The first stage is the brief and estimate, usually one day. You describe the task, show references, the contractor asks clarifying questions and fixes the scope, price and deadline in writing. Then design: two or three days for a prototype of the screens that you approve before the first line of code is written. This is the cheapest moment for changes.

Development takes one to two weeks depending on scope. Good practice is a working staging environment where you see progress daily and can click through the app rather than wait for a «final demo». The last stage is launch: connecting to your bot, live payment keys, test orders and handing over access. Another day or two.

In total, one to three weeks. An MVP is realistic in five to seven days if a week is not spent approving design. After release there should be a period of free fixes: two weeks is a reasonable standard. That is when the small things surface that cannot be seen before real customers arrive.

How to choose a contractor and what to ask before starting

First, live cases you can open in Telegram, not screenshots in a presentation. A Mini App is easy to show: the link opens in a second and you immediately feel the speed, design and logic. Second, who builds the backend and where it lives. Your customers, orders and payments must sit on your server or in an account handed over to you, not stay with the contractor.

Third, payments. Ask whose name the payment account is registered in and whether Apple Pay and Google Pay will work through Ukrainian acquirers. Fourth, what happens after release: how many days of fixes, whether there is support and what further feature development costs. If these four questions get clear written answers, the contractor is safe to work with.

For Telegram Mini App development specifically we set up a separate practice, Portal Studio: it gathers real cases of shops, booking services and customer accounts that you can open right in Telegram, and provides a timeline and budget estimate within one working day. If the task is broader than an app - a CRM, process automation, bots for the team - Devlly still helps with that, as before.
